Exciting times! Peekaboo (Dir. Damien Power) was selected for and screened at Flickerfest. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the film won The Avid Award for Best Editing. (Katie’s first trophy since tennis camp, 1987). Everyone is really proud of the film.

Speaking of Damien, Katie took a brief break from The Project and reunited with him to edit the short drama, Boot. It is part of The Voices Project, an ATYP initiative and will premiere in March 2012.

Relocating from Sydney to Melbourne, Katie has begun editing for The Project (Roving Enterprises, Channel 10).

September – November, 2011

Back in Sydney, Katie entered the hitherto unknown world of Rugby Union by editing the one-hour documentary for The Discovery Channel, John Eales Reveals: Leaders of Rugby (Triton Media). Thanks to the help of host, John Eales and director, Matt Tomaszewski, she now knows her scrums from her rucks. More or less.

She then went on to edit two episodes of Photo Finish (Southern Star) for the ABC. This fun series about amateur photographers is set to air some time in 2012.

August, 2011

Katie completed a three-month edit on Project Shiphunt (@Radical Media, NY). It is a one-hour documentary which screened in late August on Current TV in The United States. It documents the adventures of five high school students from Saginaw, Michigan as they journey to the Great Lakes in search of a sunken ship.
